90-92 BLACKFRIARS ROAD

A mixed-use development in Southwark, the scheme comprises a basement, retail and office space at ground and mezzanine floors, with three residential blocks above, ranging from six to eight storeys in height providing 53 new apartments.

Following earlier stage design involvement with Clarion, United Living engaged Shockledge as civil and structural engineer to deliver the scheme through to completion.

The project was designed using flat slab construction with a reinforced concrete basement. A unique feature involved hanging columns supported from the upper floors, removing load from lower level columns and facilitating ultra slender columns at the lower levels forming the façade profile.
